2019 Ice Fishing season is open!
Vermont Fishing Trips is fully operational for 2019 Ice Fishing season. The location is Lake St. Catherine (LSC) located in Wells / Poultney Vt. Lake St. Catherine (LSC) is a 852 acre glacical lake that hosts: Northern Pike, Bass, Brown Trout, Yellow Perch, Black Crappie and Rainbow Smelt. Max depth 68 feet but Chuck targets weedy areas with tipups mainly for Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.
Meeting Places:
From Manchester (30mins)..Stratton (50 mins) We will meet at the Wells Town clerk office located at 1064 Vt -30 Wells, Vt. 05774
From Rutland(35 mins)..Killington/Okemo(under 1 hr) We will meet at the entrance to the LSC State Park, 3034 Vt 30 Poultney Vt
Chuck Kashner provides all fishing gear. Beginners are welcome! You are responsible for a fishing license.
Rate: $300.00 for 1 or 2 anglers add $50.00 for each additional angler. Ice fishing trips are 3 to 4 hours and start at 9 or 10am.

Feb 2017 Update
After a start and stop...we are back on the ice! There are old icefishermen and bold icefishermen BUT there aren't many bold old icefishermen...I NEVER take chances with clients on sketchy ice. Thanks for the view!

Looking good for 2017
It looks good for after New Years! Tapped some test holes today and found 6 inches...Safe ice isn't wide spread yet but after New Years we will be able to walk on water...I have lots of openings...Call me if you want to try ice fishing

GAME ON...We have plenty of Ice
Its game on for Vermont Ice Fishing trips....Trout and Bass season opens this weekend...there is at least 5 inches of ice pretty much everywhere...but the places I fish currently have 6 to 12"...the saying I live by: there are bold ice fishermen...and there are old ice fishermen...but there isn't old bold ice fishermen...I am never the first guy out and I won't be the last guy in the late season either....I scouted hard today and its GAME ON!
This is the growing Smelt Village on Bomo....next week I will be featuring Smelt fishing too!
