MERRY CHRISTMAS

Most lakes and ponds have ice and are locked up....we had snow on the top which is now gone due to the meltdown / rain we just had...A GOOD THING...snow insulates the ice so with snow on the ice it can not grow. With this week's forecast I think I will be walking on the water this next weekend!
Thanks for the view....things are about to get started, please stay tuned!

The 2012-2013 Vermont Ice Fishing Season is a wrap!

The 2012-2013 Ice Fishing Season for guiding trips is a wrap! There are a couple places to fish but I am a wrap as far as guiding trips. The edges and banks are sketchy and if you need to wear a PFD, spikes around your neck and walk a plank to go on the ice...I'm done with taking clients! It was an AWESOME ice fishing season! Thanks for the trips, views and support! I will continue to post but the focus is clearly moving to my Fly Fishing and Spin Fishing blogs....Thanks again and think Spring. Trout Season in Vermont opens April 13, 2013....Lets go fishing!

GOT BASS?

A nice Larrie from LSC

Marcum LX 5 is an AWESOME unit

I just got a new tool...a Marcum LX 5 flasher sonar unit. WHAT AN AWESOME UNIT. You can see a size 12 tungsten jig in 50 FOW. The separation between marks is excellent. An you can see fish coming off the bottom to meet your offering....What an AWESOME TOOL! I clearly plan to use it in the summer in the boat. There are a ton of times fish are suspended in the summer and this unit will be killer in targeting them. Here is a direct link to where I got it. Vermont Ice Fishing

The ice fishing in Vermont continues to be solid! We have twice as much ice as last year...seeing 13 to 15 inches in most places....I played a little yesterday without clients. Spent most the time on the Aqua view...found Bluegills in LSC and C&R 3 Northern Pike and a stumper Largemouth Bass...Thanks for the view, this coming weekend is a sell out as is next Saturday and Sunday..BUT we will be able to fish into March this year and weekdays are open for the most part...STAY TUNED!

Southern Vermont ice fishing is wide spread. The ice locally is between 10 to 13 inches thick! The fishing for Bass over the weekend was awesome and there were a bunch of northern pike mixed into the action. Ice fishing this month will be strong and I will be fishing daily now. If you want to check out ice fishing please give me a call...I supply all the equipment, tackle, bait and even drill the holes for you...come ice fishing in Vermont, it's fun in the sun.

We have SAFE / FISHABLE ice in southern Vermont

There is safe ice! Most places I fish has at least 6 inches of ice which is the minimum amount that I will take guests out on....some places there are more than 6 inches...I guided a group on Burr Pond and on the north end of LSC this weekend...GAME ON ! With the current weeks forecast we are good to go
